Description
The origin of Lady Justice traces back to Iustitia, the Roman goddess of justice. Iustitia was introduced by Emperor Augustus, making her a relatively recent addition to the Roman pantheon.
She quickly became a symbol of the virtue of justice, which every emperor sought to associate with their rule. Emperor Vespasian even minted coins depicting the goddess seated on a throne, known as Iustitia Augusta. Many emperors who followed also used her image to reinforce their role as protectors of justice.
Please note that due to the handmade nature of this product, the color of the item you receive may vary slightly from the images shown on our website. It’s important to understand that the patina is not paint but a thin conversion layer on the surface of the bronze.
